**Job Description**
The Jomaa Lab at the University of Virginia is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join an interdisciplinary team investigating the molecular basis of protein biogenesis at the endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria. The lab employs cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), cellular cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET), biochemistry, and cell biology to elucidate how protein targeting and translation are regulated under various physiological and stress conditions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on high-resolution structural and cellular biology projects using state-of-the-art instrumentation and in collaboration with expert labs in biophysics, cell biology, and disease modeling.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Mammalian cell culture, including HEK293 or similar lines
• CRISPR-based gene editing for knockouts and knock-ins
• Yeast genetics and manipulation
• Structural biology techniques, particularly single-particle cryo-EM or cryo-ET
• Biochemical assays for ribosome and membrane protein complexes
• Familiarity with Linux, MATLAB, Python, or other computational tools (a plus)
