**Job Description**
The Joint PhD Scholarship program offers funded opportunities for nurses and midwives to enter a part-time Ph.D. program, focusing on discovering new practices and knowledge through evidence-based approaches. The research aims to advance innovation in practice within St. James Hospital and its partners, particularly in areas like integrated care, workforce development, digital & data, and evidence-based nursing practice, aligning with institutional nursing strategy pillars and the Trinity Centre for Practice and Healthcare Innovation (TCPHI) research themes.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong desire to discover new practices and knowledge through evidence-based approaches
• Ability to develop a comprehensive research proposal, including background, aims, methodology, ethical considerations, milestones, and dissemination plans.
• Capability to integrate research within institutional and academic strategies.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Nursing
• Midwifery
Other:
• Not currently registered for a Ph.D.

**Experience**
Other:
• Clinical experience (evidenced by requirement for a clinical reference from an Assistant Director of Nursing)
