**Job Description**
The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Arizona is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate I to join the laboratory of Dr. Terry O Matsunaga. This position will assume a lead role in developing stabilized microbubble conjugates for the ultrasound-mediated delivery of neurotransmitters and therapeutics for brain imaging and delivery technology. The successful applicant will collaborate with a team from major universities in the United Kingdom for evaluation and refinement, and conduct initial characterization using a Malvern Nano Zetasizer and Verasonics™ platform.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Moderate experience with ultrasound systems by Verasonics™.
• Moderate experience characterizing nano-sized ultrasound systems.
• Fluency in English with excellent writing and presentation skills.
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biomedical Engineering
• Formulations Chemistry
• Related field
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• 0-1 years (Postdoctoral research)
Other:
• At least two publications in biomedical imaging (1st authorship preferred).
• Experience in nanoparticle, nanodroplet, microbubble, or liposome design.
• Drug loading experience preferred.
