**Job Description**
An open Postdoctoral Associate position is available in the Achanta Lab, funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), at Duke University School of Medicine. The position focuses on studying pulmonary diseases following toxic chemical exposures, with the goal of developing medical countermeasures and identifying biomarkers of chemical inhalation exposures. The research employs in vitro, rodent, and non-rodent models, utilizing various techniques such as ELISA, multiplex MSD panel assays, flow cytometry, bulk and single-cell sequencing, proteomic approaches, and cardiopulmonary physiological readouts. Extensive training in these techniques will be provided, and the role is viewed as preparatory for a full-time academic or research career, with an expectation to publish research results.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Strong interest to study pulmonary diseases following toxic chemical exposures.
• Prior working experience in pulmonary animal models (preferred).
• Prior working experience in laboratory techniques/approaches such as ELISA, multiplex MSD panel assays, flow cytometry, bulk and single-cell sequencing, proteomic approaches, and cardiopulmonary physiological readouts (preferred).

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Pharmacology
• Neuroscience
• Physiology
• Toxicology
• Veterinary Sciences
• Related fields
• Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., Sc.D., M.D., D.V.M.)

**Experience**
Other:
• Preference will be given to candidates with 2+ years of postdoctoral experience conducting scientific research.
• Open to fresh graduates who have completed all degree requirements, even if not formally conferred.
• Must be a true post-doctoral fellow registered with the Post Doc Office.
