**Job Description**
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will join the Price Lab within the Department of Neuroscience and the Center for Advanced Pain Studies at UT Dallas. This role focuses on NIH- and industry-funded projects investigating how neuronal plasticity influences the brain’s reception of nociceptive information, its relation to chronic pain, and identifying/validating high-quality targets for chronic pain treatment. The project involves utilizing human disease-based data, screening against receptors in human dorsal root ganglia (DRG), and functional validation using human DRG neurons, with primary aims including whole genome identification and validation of factors essential for human nociceptor function and CRISPR screening for novel neuropathic pain targets. The selected candidate will advance understanding of human nociceptor regulation, identify broadly applicable manipulation targets, and discover new therapeutic targets for neuropathic pain.

• Communicate effectively in both verbal presentations and writing technical reports for internal/external presentations, publications, and grant preparation

• Experience in cell culture, pharmacology, and therapeutic development

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Related field (Ph.D)

Experience Required:
• 3-5 years (research experience in preclinical pain models or related field)
Other:
• Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure (as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code)

Annual Salary: $62,232, DOQ (Dependent on Qualifications) Annual Salary: Salary based on years of experience in accordance with current NIH (NRSA) stipend levels.
