**Job Description**
The Puentes Postdoctoral Fellow is a three-year grant-funded trainee position under the U.S. Department of Education’s Title V Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) program. This role focuses on pursuing research as a vital component of professional career development, involving research and/or teaching with minimal supervision.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Proficiency in software and research statistical applications
• Understanding of the promotoras model of leadership
• Fluent communication in both English and Spanish
• Experience in writing and obtaining grants
• Experience in the following topics: higher education, student success, community engagement, family engagement, and community leadership
• Experience in writing and publishing in the areas/intersections of higher education, student success, community engagement, family engagement and Mexican American Studies
• Experience working in local communities and with parents
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Mexican American Studies or a related field
