The laboratory of Dr. Shoubao Ma, an Assistant Professor at City of Hope’s Department of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow. Dr. Ma’s lab focuses on tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy, with an emphasis on understanding how tumor cells evade immune surveillance, and is particularly interested in the regulation of natural killer (NK) cell development and function, CAR-NK cell therapy development, the tumor microenvironment, and the role of epigenetic and RNA modifications in immune regulation and tumor progression. **Skills & Abilities**
• Expertise in NK cell development and function.
• Experience with CAR NK or CAR T cell engineering and application.
• Proficiency in using conditional knockout mice, tumor models, or MCMV infection systems.
• Experience with CRISPR screening and CRISPR-based gene editing.
• Knowledge of epigenetic regulation of gene expression.
• Understanding of mechanisms of immune cell exhaustion, memory, and functional regulation.
• Curious, motivated, and independent research scientist.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
• Eagerness to explore innovative directions in cancer immunotherapy.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (written and spoken).
