**Job Description**
The Materials Science and Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Postdoctoral researcher to develop flexible biosensor and chemical actuator arrays. This collaborative position, under the primary oversight of Dr. Cohen-Karni, focuses on integrated multidisciplinary research to enhance bioelectrical device functionality, performance, and longevity. The goal is to design and fabricate bioelectrical platforms with clinical translation, utilizing unique bioelectrical sensors and actuators to address biomedical challenges like disease progression monitoring and controlled therapeutics delivery.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Experience with chemical wet lab work
• Experience with in vivo experimentation
• Experience programming in Matlab and/or Python
• Experience with SEM/TEM/Raman/XPS/XRD
• Experience with immunohistochemistry or immunofluorescence
• Strong publication record in relevant journals
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with others
• Ability to work well in a self-paced, independent manner
• Ability to work well in cooperation with team members and partners
• Commitment to meet research project deadlines
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Materials Science and Engineering (on topics related to materials printing, (implanted) bioelectronics, electrocatalysis and/or electrochemistry, or biosensing)
Coursework in:
• Electrochemistry
