**Job Description**
The appointee will assist in a research project titled “Leveraging the power of urban informatics for policy making – a proof-of-concept study for futureproofing communities for ageing in place.” This project aims to rigorously examine multifaceted factors influencing older adults’ capacity for healthy ageing within their community contexts, with a focus on evaluating environmental determinants for enhancement or redesign to support ageing in place, thereby promoting autonomy, well-being, and social inclusion among the elderly in Hong Kong’s vertical urban landscape. The role involves interdisciplinary collaboration, data-driven analysis, and informing public policy and urban planning.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Proficiency in SPSS, GIS, or similar data analysis and visualisation software
• Solid experience in community-based research coordination
• Strong interdisciplinary teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills
• Familiarity with urban informatics, health-related environmental design or policy research
• Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Urban Analytics, Public Health, Gerontology, Nursing, Psychology, Town Planning, Social Design, Urban Studies or related disciplines (for Postdoctoral Fellow)
• Master’s degree in Urban Analytics, Public Health, Gerontology, Nursing, Psychology, Town Planning, Social Design, Urban Studies or related disciplines (for Research Associate)
• Honours Bachelor’s degree in Urban Analytics, Public Health, Gerontology, Nursing, Psychology, Town Planning, Social Design, Urban Studies or related disciplines (for Research Associate)
**Experience**
Experience Required:
• No more than 5 years of post-qualification experience (for Postdoctoral Fellow)
• At least 3 years of research/relevant work experience (for Research Associate with Honours Bachelor’s degree)
