**Job Description**
This postdoctoral position is affiliated with the Sapere Aude research project ‘Imaginaries of “Existential Risks”: Making, Governing, and Contesting Humanity’s Future.’ The project critically assesses the politics of new forms of futuring by investigating the production of existential risk imaginaries, their uptake in global governance, and their contestation through social movements. The successful applicant will focus on a specific work package to understand the processes and politics of knowledge production in making existential risk imaginaries, involving ethnographic fieldwork in Europe and the US, including interviews and participatory observations, and a research stay at an advisory board institution. The role also includes teaching and supervision at BA and MA levels.

**Skills & Abilities**
• An internationally oriented research profile within STS.
• Experience in the self-directed management of research projects.
• Relevant teaching experience at university level.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage productively within the research team and with external organizations and institutions.
• Experience in planning and conducting ethnographic fieldwork.
• A track record of research publications of a high international standard (advantageous).
• Experience of participation in national and international research networks (advantageous).
• Time spent abroad working at one or more internationally recognized research institutions (advantageous).

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Relevant field related to STS (Science and Technology Studies)
• Policy analysis
PhD degree or equivalent academic qualifications

• Teaching portfolio (or equivalent documentation of teaching experience and qualifications) commensurate with the length of the applicant’s academic career
• Proposal for research to be undertaken within the stated framework of the research project (max. 1-2 pages)
