**Job Description**
The Department of Geography at King’s College London invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to work on the Leverhulme-funded project “Sensory Lives: Neurodivergent Children and Families in Temporary Accommodation.” The project aims to understand the experiences of homeless families with neurodivergent children in the United Kingdom and integrate their insights into national discussions on child homelessness. The PDRA will primarily support the design and UK-wide tour of a playhouse tent to communicate children’s experiences to diverse audiences, engaging with children and families in co-design, facilitating public engagement, and conducting qualitative data analysis of engagement. The position is a one-year, full-time role based at KCL’s Strand Campus in central London, with hybrid working accommodated.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Knowledge of children, childhood, and/or housing issues
• Familiarity with at least one of the following areas: neurodiversity; homelessness; health and well-being; inclusive research and policy impact; gender and feminism; or audience studies
• Knowledge of societal issues impacting families in the United Kingdom
• Qualitative data collection and analysis
• Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively in team settings
• Ability to build and manage relationships with research participants and/or community stakeholders
• Ability to travel in the UK with the playhouse tent and engage tour audiences
• Expertise in engaging with neurodivergent adults and/or children (Desirable)
• Experience in co-design and participatory research (Desirable)
• Experience working at the arts-policy interface (Desirable)
• Experience communicating research findings and outputs accessible to non-experts and/or the general public (Desirable)
• Experience promoting research through social media and other media channels (Desirable)

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Human geography
• Cognate discipline in the social sciences
• Arts (e.g., applied arts or applied theatre)
