**Job Description**
This role manages the Office of Distinguished Scholarships (ODS) within the Division of Undergraduate Education and Student Success (UESS), specifically the Undergraduate Research and Distinguished Scholarships (URDS) allied offices. The manager leads University-wide strategies to promote experiential learning, academic research, creative work, and distinguished scholarships/fellowships for undergraduates and recent alumni. Key responsibilities include serving as a primary advisor and mentor, delivering individualized coaching, specialized advising, and for-credit instruction to prepare candidates for scholarship success. The position leads ODS programming, manages institutional endorsement processes, cultivates strategic partnerships with stakeholders, and represents the University in national professional communities, contributing to the university’s distinguished scholarship profile and fostering a culture of academic excellence and public service.

• Five years of progressively responsible professional experience with advising, mentoring, and coaching distinguished and nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships
• Five years of instructional experience at the undergraduate level
• Five years of experience working for or collaborating with distinguished scholarship foundations and their representatives (Preferred)
• Five years of experience working for or engaging with distinguished scholarship alumni and/or alumni networks or groups (Preferred)
• Five years of advising experience specifically focused on Gates Cambridge, Marshall, Mitchell, and Rhodes scholarships (Preferred)
• Five years of experience working for or collaborating with government agencies, diplomatic missions, embassies, or non-profit organizations focused on international affairs or foreign service (Preferred)
• Experience studying or working at UK higher education institutions or graduate programs (Preferred)
• Familiarity with the University of Oregon’s academic departments, programs, and administrative landscape (Preferred)
• Master’s degree in a liberal arts or sciences discipline (Preferred)
