**Job Description**
This Postdoctoral Research Associate position is with the Atlantic Coast Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics and Analytics (ACCIDDA), part of the CDC-funded Insight Net, a national network for outbreak analytics and disease modeling. The role focuses on developing software and analytic tools for disease modeling and critical analytics in response to infectious disease outbreaks. Responsibilities include developing predictive and analytic models of infectious disease using dynamic models and/or machine learning/artificial intelligence algorithms. Projects may also involve analyzing spatial and geographic data and extrapolating results to different spatial scales, collaborating with scientists and public health practitioners to develop solutions impacting population health.
**Skills & Abilities**
• Research experience in epidemiology, biostatistics, computational biology, computer science, public health, or a related field.
• Experience in epidemiology, statistics, or other quantitative field.
• Experience in infectious disease dynamics, epidemic modeling, and/or machine learning and artificial intelligence.
• Proficiency in writing programs and performing analysis in R and/or Python.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Experience working as part of large-scale research, scientific, medical, or academic projects.
• Experience working in, or in support of, public health agencies or departments.
