**Job Description**
The Research Assistant 2 will plan and execute research study activities in the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbiology, focusing on the life cycle of a bacteriophage that infects *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*. This role involves conducting basic research using microbiological, genetic, molecular biological, and microscopy techniques, supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Knowledge of basic microbiological culture techniques
• Experience working with DNA (PCR, cloning)
• Familiarity with fluorescence microscopy techniques (a plus)
• Ability and willingness to learn new techniques, procedures, processes, and computer-related skills
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Ability to follow protocols and work under general supervision
• Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently
• Curiosity and interest in the field
• Ability to rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Biotechnology
• Molecular Biology
• Microbiology

**Experience**

• 1 to 3 years (Bachelor’s Degree)
• 2 to 4 years (Associate’s Degree)
Other:
• Knowledge of basic microbiological culture techniques
• Experience working with DNA (PCR, cloning)
