**Job Description**
The Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine (WWIEM) at Queen’s University Belfast is seeking a Research Assistant (Optometrist) to support clinical research in Ophthalmology and Vision Science. The role involves contributing to studies led by Professor Noemi Lois, including DAME, a UK-wide multicentric randomized equivalence trial for Diabetic Macular Oedema (DMO), and COMBAT, a UK-wide randomized equivalence trial comparing phacovitrectomy versus vitrectomy for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. This position, funded by the NIHR, requires an ambitious, productive, and collaborative individual committed to working in a team and meeting deadlines with strong organisational skills.

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Optometry
Other:
• Registered optometrist (General Optical Council Registered and appropriate professional indemnity cover) or eligibility for registration.
• Fulfilment of Continued Professional Development (CPD) stipulations according to GOC guidelines.
**Experience**
Other:
• Relevant experience in optometry, post registration.
• Current optometrist role or having been active as an optometrist within the last 6 months.
