**Job Description**
ESA’s postdoctoral Research Fellowship programme offers early-career scientists and engineers the opportunity to conduct independent research in a variety of disciplines related to space science, space applications, or space technology. Fellows work with leading scientists and engineers, experiencing ESA’s approach to maximizing scientific return from missions. The programme supports research activities coordinated by the ESA Science Faculty and encourages fellows to take leading roles in these initiatives.

**Skills & Abilities**
• Breadth of exposure coming from past and/or current research/activities
• Knowledge relevant to the field of research
• Research/publication record
• Ability to conduct research autonomously
• Ability to gather and share relevant information
• General interest in space and space research
• Cross-cultural sensitivity
• Good knowledge of English or French
• Knowledge of another Member State language (asset)

**Qualifications**
Required Degree(s) in:
• Space Science
• Space Applications
• Space Technology
• Heliophysics
• Planetary Science
• Astrophysics
• Fundamental Physics

**Experience**
Other:
• PhD completed and obtained before starting the Research Fellowship
• Applications from candidates within five years of receiving their PhD are preferred
